What if you don't pay it all at once?

Two Dominican banks lend to foreigners buying here. This is what they ask for.

25 years to pay it back
8.25% from

The better of the two sets of terms, which are Scotiabank’s.

Do you qualify?

The published minimums for the non-resident program.

Scotiabank publishes these. Banco Popular doesn't publish its own, so if you fall short on one, ask us before ruling it out.

Bank terms, 2026.

Worth knowing first

It's two steps

  1. 01

    Prequalification

The bank looks at your debt ratio, your score, your credit history and that your net worth is positive. You don't need a property picked out yet.

  2. 02

    Final approval

With the property chosen: appraisal and contract or promise of sale, and the prequalification documents are updated.

What paperwork they'll ask for

You're from

And you work as

I want to apply

These are the bank's own questionnaire questions. What you answer here you won't answer twice.

01 The property
02 You

We don't ask for your Social Security number or date of birth. That goes in the authorisation you sign directly with the bank.

Terms taken from the documents Scotiabank and Banco Popular provide in writing, current in 2026. Approving a loan is the bank's decision, not ours: here we tell you what they ask for and we walk you through presenting it.
